MORGAN STANLEY PRIVATE WEALTH MANAGEMENT AND GRAYSTONE CONSULTING BRING “THE BIG PAYDAY” LIVE, THEATRE STYLE PRODUCTION TO THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PHILANTHROPIC PLANNING
Indianapolis, IN -- The Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (PPP), the leading, professional organization representing fundraisers, estate and financial planners, trust officers and other professional philanthropic planners, has partnered with Graystone Consulting, a business of Morgan Stanley, and Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management to present a live theatre-style Shaking the Tree interactive production at its National Conference on Philanthropic Planning (NCPP) October 21-23 in Orlando, FL.
“The Big Payday”, sponsored by Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management and Graystone Consulting, will be the first plenary session of its kind at NCPP. The show, produced by Shaking the Tree Productions, will feature a living case study where a recently liquid, mature family wrestles with expectations of inheritance and generational equity as it explores the beginnings of building a legacy through modest gifting and a family foundation.
Conference attendees will experience a more interactive case-based, theatre-approached learning style for this plenary session in lieu of the traditional speaker and podium setup. This learning style will create an exciting play-like atmosphere boasting a unique Q&A session at the end.
“At the end of each live play, the audience is encouraged to question the actors, who reply in character, providing a realistic discussion, and an opportunity to more fully explore thoughts, motivations and interpersonal dynamics.” – Shaking the Tree Productions
The sponsoring organizations are thrilled to bring this type of programming to a conference focused on case-based learning.
“Shaking the Tree has the uncanny ability to convey powerful messages to affluent families. Employing a theater-oriented approach, Shaking the Tree highlights the challenges that come with inherited wealth, family business succession and other issues by acting them out in front of an audience. The philanthropic planning audience leaves with concrete examples of how to engage in more meaningful and powerful intergenerational conversations.” – Melanie Schnoll-Begun, Managing Director and Head, Morgan Stanley Philanthropy Management
NCPP is one of the largest philanthropic conferences of its kind hosted by the Indianapolis based Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. The conference brings in over 750 professionals in philanthropy and offers over 40 breakout sessions in six different education tracks.
